Thanks for helping test sommi, your pocket sommelier. Here's everything you need to get started — and how to tell me what's working and what isn't.

Step one

Install TestFlight

Download TestFlight from the App Store. It's Apple's free, official app for testing betas.

Check your email for an invite titled "…has invited you to test Sommi."

Open the invite on your iPhone and tap View in TestFlight.

Tap Install (or Accept, then Install).

That's it — sommi lands on your home screen just like any other app.

So, what is sommi?

sommi helps you pick a wine with confidence at a restaurant. Tell it what you're eating, and it recommends wines from the actual restaurant's list — no more staring at a 40-page wine binder. Not eating, or just want a glass? sommi can also recommend based on the vibe you're going for — no dish required.

Full onboarding, if this is your first time opening the app
A full pairing flow, start to finish — pick a dish, choose a wine color/vibe, then photograph a wine list (a real one, or a screenshot of one online)
Try it with no dish, too — just pick the vibe you're going for and see what it recommends
Rate a wine from your results
Check your Profile — do rated/unrated wines show up right?
Poke around Settings — nothing should break

Tell me about the pairings

This matters as much as bug-hunting — I want to know if the recommendations themselves are good, not just whether the app works.

Did the recommended wine actually make sense with what you were eating?

Would you have picked that wine yourself, or does it feel off?

Do the wine descriptions make sense — helpful, or too jargon-y or vague?

Does the "why this was recommended" explanation actually help you understand the pick?

Screenshot feedback

Take a screenshot in the app, tap the preview in the corner, then send it as beta feedback. Mark up the image, add a comment — it comes straight to me with your device info attached.

In-app

Open Settings → Feedback. Best for anything not visual — wording, a feature idea, something that feels off.
